I have created a differentiated world in my classroom where the students are given the opportunity to be more responsible for their work. At the beginning of each unit, the students take a pre-test and that test determines the amount of work the student is required to complete. The pre-test is broken down into elements per each unit. Each question on the test correlates with the particular element for the unit. Each student is given a break down of how they performed on that assessment and the data is placed on the "standard layout" document I have attached. According to their score percentage, it determines which color they are in for their assignments( attached). And you may wonder how does the student actually learn the content? I teach the lesson via video! All of their assignments are uploaded to Edmodo. It is there where the students are free to watch my lessons whenever they need to to ensure that they are understanding the material. I also have each of the posters used on the videos in the classroom. The students are encouraged to take pictures of the posters as another resource when they are home watching the video. The due dates for their assignments is also attached to the document. However, the students DO NOT have to wait until then to turn in their work.
